Rev. Cody J. Sanders, Ph.D

The Rev. Cody J. Sanders, Ph.D., is associate professor of congregational and community care leadership at Luther Seminary in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He is the author of several books, including, Spiritual Care First Aid: An All-Hands Approach for Church and Community (Fortress, 2025), and coauthor of an eco-theological treatment of deathcare titled, Corpse Care: Ethics for Tending the Dead with Mikeal Parson (Fortress, 2023). His teaching and scholarship include a focus on the theology and praxis of care for the human and the more-than-human web of life in our time of eco-social-political-technological polycrisis.
