Animal Food Products

"Producing human foods from animals is inefficient, wasteful and dangerous". Animal and fish farming produce only 18% of all calories consumed globally by humans, but they account for 60% of the greenhouse gases emitted by all agricultural activities, and 20% of global climate-warming emissions from all sources. Animal agriculture also is the single largest source (37%) of global methane emissions. Meat accounts for 56% of the carbon footprint in U.S. diets and reducing meat consumption by 50% would be equivalent to eliminating 47 million gas-powered cars. Current U.S. policy regarding greenhouse warming from agriculture is promoting sustainable/regenerative farming practices which can reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but not regulations or incentives to control/reduce animal production.
