On Pollinator Sunday, June 22, we blessed a special area of our front lawn that will be the future home of a pollinator garden at Salem Lutheran Church in Hermantown. This area now consists partially of an under-managed memorial garden and scrappy grass. The memorial garden will have a rebirth of native plants that will benefit a wide range of God's creations from the smallest little critters like ants and spiders to pollinators like bees and hummingbirds and even larger birds like finches. Using native plants will ensure a good success rate of the plants' vigor and growth and the reduced use of water and fertilizers.
